🔢 How is the JEE Main Percentile Score Calculated?

The JEE Main result is based on percentile scores, not raw marks. NTA uses Normalization to ensure fairness, as the exam is conducted in multiple shifts.

JEE Main 2025 Percentile Formula:

Percentile Score=(Number of candidates who scored equal to or less than youTotal number of candidates in that session)×100\text{Percentile Score} = \left(\frac{\text{Number of candidates who scored equal to or less than you}}{\text{Total number of candidates in that session}}\right) \times 100

Example Calculation:

  • Total candidates in session: 2,00,000
  • Your rank in session: 10,000
    📌 Your Percentile = (200000 – 10000) ÷ 200000 × 100 = 95 Percentile

📢 Remember: Percentile ≠ Percentage. Percentile ranks candidates based on relative performance.

📊 JEE Main 2025 Expected Cut-off for NITs & IIITs

Category Expected Cut-off Percentile (2025) Previous Year Cut-off (2024)
